Stage 1: A rolled up news paper. The pages are sticking and the colors are ruined. The roll is deteriorating much like the patient’s brain.
Stage 2: A flower pot, with rotten flowers inside and a couple dancing and chasing around the pot. The album cover represents the patient. They are still quite normal, although it looks wrong.
Stage 3: A burst of the flowers in the Stage 2 pot. It’s as if they have Alzheimer’s and the realisation bursts. You can kind of see the couple still dancing around at the corners, although it looks unrecognisable. Inverting the colors of the Stage 3 colours reveals ruined synapses.
Stage 4: A possibly female figure looking away from the viewer. It’s as if the person in there is the feelings of the patient. They are bewildered, saddened, and left confused.
Stage 5: An amalgamation of previous paintings by Ivan Seal. This is what the memory of the patient is. Left merging together and nothing makes sense.
Stage 6: It’s either a blank canvas or a picture looking away. They, however, both make sense.
