If you wanna know the original formula, here it is: a = b a2 = ab a2 - b2 = ab - b2 (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b) [(a + b)(a - b)] / (a - b) = [b(a - b)] / (a - b) a + b = b b + b = b 2b = b 2b / b = b / b 2 = 1
Now, I already see a flaw when I first looked at this. Dividing by 0. You see, Since a = b, then a - b would be 0 but the problem divides both sides by 0, so it's impossible.
